Summer in Wisconsin & UP of Michigan

We spent a week at Starrett Lake in Wisconsin with Ken's sister's and their husbands. Did a lot of kayaking and even tried geocaching. Had loads of fun and had great weather. We bounced back and forth from Starrett Lake to North Trout Lake and met several nice folks too. About mid-September we headed to the UP to Sylvania Wilderness just across the WI/MI border. That was Kathy's first time in the UP. We ventured every which way from the west to the east. We didn't get to the lower part of Michigan until October 1st. Good timing too as the snow started to fall in Houghton and the other towns we had been to! We enjoyed the Soo Locks and eating the pasties and decided we should explore lower Michigan another time. We were heading to Atlanta to camp with friends by the 2nd week in October. We also enjoyed a museum in Whitefish, MI - which had a memorial to the Edmund Fitzgerald (very moving).
