Muk Tuk Kennels, Whitehorse, Yukon CN

One of Kat's favorite places was Muk Tuk Kennels. Frank Turner, shown in the 'bottom' picture with his Yukon Quest trophy. The tour was FANTASTIC - and we encourage everyone to stop by and spend 3-4 hours learning about sled dog racing, his love for his sled dogs and getting to know the sled dogs (petting them, going for a walk with them, etc.) The road into the Turner's home was not really suited for our travel trailer...we wondered if there would be a turn around once we got there! We were relieved to see a circular drive around so our departure would be a cinch. Frank began the tour inside with a video of the Yukon Quest (similar to the Itiderod) but once we got outside the dogs went crazy! The dogs knew the routine - Frank would pick only a few for our walk. The dogs were howling and jumping on top of their houses...each one saying, 'pick me, pick me!' What a day - simply marvelous!
